Johnny About Wood

“The reason I work with older wood- new growth wood is genetically engineered- fast growing trees make the most sense when you look at wood as a “crop.” But when you’re looking for character and
density, old wood is the only way to go.”

Making Furniture Out of History

Rough Cut Designs uses salvaged materials from demolished historic structures to create rustic/modern furniture pieces.

All furniture is designed and constructed by Johnny Jackson. He’s a southern artist who works out of a 1950’s service station basement in Carrollton, Georgia (40 miles west of Atlanta).
